CNN biz reporter Goodkind departs

Nicole Goodkind

Nicole Goodkind, a senior business reporter at CNN, has left the news operation after nearly three years.

“It was a privilege to work alongside some of the most talented people in journalism, and I’m so proud of what we accomplished together,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

She joined CNN in 2022 from Fortune magazine, where she served as a politics and business reporter.

Prior to joining Fortune, Goodkind was a senior political correspondent at Newsweek. Before that, she was at Yahoo Finance for over 5 years, where she has worked as a reporter and video producer specializing in business news.

Goodkind has a B.S. from Cornell University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
