CNET senior editor Crist is departing

Ry Crist, a senior editor at tech site CNET, is leaving the publication after 11 years.

His beats included smart home tech, lighting, appliances, broadband and home networking.

“I’m beyond grateful to have been a small part of such an excellent organization, but my partner and I are planning a move to Chicago this summer, and I’m ready to explore some new opportunities in a new city,” he wrote on Twitter.

Crist is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
