CNBC senior vice president of digital Jay Yarow sent out the following to his staff on Thursday:

As you have likely seen, CNBC has made some changes and as a result I will no longer be a part of the company. (If you haven’t seen, check your email?)

While I am disappointed to be leaving the company, I couldn’t be more proud of this place — what it represents, what it produces day in and day out, and what we accomplished in the nine years I spent here.

When I started, we were in 11th in comScore, but we grew by 5X and reached the number one slot. We built a number of successful new products — Make It, Select, Pro, and Investing Club just to name a few. We’ve also expanded our audience on new platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. Our revenues and our profits grew. No easy task in digital media!

We did all of this without sacrificing the most essential thing: High quality journalism. We never fell prey to bad trends or chased audience simply to get big. We always focused on serving our audience and doing high quality work.

This happened because we have a brilliant group of people. The thing I will always be most proud of is the people that work here and the culture that we built. I will now join the distinguished group of alumni from CNBC. I will continue to watch, read and listen to the terrific work you all produce.
