CNBC’s Alex Sherman is moving to a senior reporter role covering sports business on a full-time basis.
Sherman currently covers media and sports for CNBC. He joined CNBC in January 2018 after almost 10 years at Bloomberg, where he worked as an M&A reporter and a media reporter.
Sherman frequently appears on TV and has hosted digital documentaries on subjects including ESPN, YouTube and Netflix.
He graduated from Harvard in 2004 and has two master’s degrees, an MS in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill in 2007 and an MBA from NYU Stern in 2014.
Sherman is currently in Melbourne, where he will sit down with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria ahead of the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Australia Thursday night.
