CNBC’s Santelli says goodbye

CNBC posted Friday morning a farewell video of Rick Santelli, who is retiring after nearly 30 years at the network.

“Everything in my life goes back to the markets and CNBC,” said Santelli, who has six grandkids.

He started with segments on the first Fridays each month talking about the unemployment numbers.

“It’s been a hell of a ride,” said Santelli.

Anchor Joe Kernen jokingly noted that Santelli often mangles his words because he has so many thoughts in his head.

“I would like to continue to have the ability to bring something to the party for viewers,” said Santelli, who first began appearing as a guest on the network in 1994 before officially joining in 1999.
