
Dan Colarusso, senior vice president of news at CNBC, spoke with Roben Farzad of the “Full Disclosure” podcast about what will happen with the business news network once it’s spun off into a new company from Comcast.
“We’ve created this ethos and brand around CNBC, whether it’s events, whether it’s podcasts….there’s so much here,” said Colarusso. “As a brand, we have done enough to where we are singular.”
He said that CNBC would keep all of its anchors and talent once the spinoff is complete. “We’re keeping our family intact,” he said.
Colarusso said he thinks about “audience” and doesn’t distinguish between those who read CNBC’s website or watch the network. “I don’t see our position in the market changing,” he said.
He said his goal is to give CNBC’s anchors and reporters a platform where they can be successful.
Colarusso told Farzad that he is surprised that Fox Business Network hasn’t been turned into a Wall Street Journal channel. Both are owned by Rupert Murdoch’s media empire.
