CNBC taps two to cover prediction markets

CNBC has named two journalists to cover prediction markets.

Ananya Chetia joins as a data journalist covering prediction markets. She has contributed to outlets including Columbia Journalism Review, Inside Climate News and Richmond Inno, where she covered tech and startups.

Earlier in her career, she won a Society of Professional Journalists award for a data-driven story in which she calculated the number of civilians displaced by floods in her family’s home state of Assam, India. She holds a master’s in data journalism from Columbia Journalism School and a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Richmond and has received fellowships from the Pulitzer Center and the South Asian Journalists Association.

Davis Giangiulio joins as an associate producer/writer covering prediction markets. Most recently, Giangiulio after worked with the CNBC markets team as a digital rotation associate.

A Northwestern graduate with a double major in journalism and economics, he has interned at the Chicago Sun-Times, NBC News and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, with freelance work in outlets like MarketWatch and Business Insider.
