CNBC International is planning cuts

CNBC International is planning to cut a small number of editorial staff positions. We’re told it’s an overhaul of the digital operations.

A company spokeswoman provided the following statement:

“We are currently consulting on proposed changes to the organizational structure of the international team to ensure we are best positioned to deliver on our long-term strategic priorities. As this process is ongoing, we are unable to provide further details at this time.”

British labor laws require a company planning layoffs to go through a consultation period before actually cutting positions. In December, CNBC also made a small number of layoffs on London.

Earlier this year, CNBC hired Spriha Srivastava as vice president and executive editor of digital for international. She came from Business Insider.

Last year, Deep Bagchee returned to CNBC to run CNBC International. He has been chief product officer at ITV since September 2021 and before that the chief product officer at The Economist.
