Emily Wilkins

CNBC senior vice president Dan Colarusso sent out the following on Monday:

I’m happy to announce we’ve hired Emily Wilkins to join our Washington, DC bureau as a correspondent covering Congress, key regulatory issues and policies that impact American businesses and the economy.

An award-winning journalist, Emily comes to us from Bloomberg Government, where she covered Congress with a focus on House leadership making her well-versed in breaking down Washington news for executives and investors. Emily previously covered education and labor for both Bloomberg Government and CQ Roll Call. She graduated from Michigan State with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science and currently serves as the Vice President of the National Press Club.

Emily is an ideal addition to our DC bureau that consistently distinguishes itself with sharp analysis and breaking news coverage on everything from this year’s banking crisis to trade wars to cybercrime. Her expertise will be especially important as we expect tech regulation, antitrust policies and, of course, budget wrangling to continue to lead the CNBC news cycle.

Her first day at the bureau will be June 20  and, as is her habit, she’s likely to bike into the office from her home in DC.

Please join me in welcoming Emily to CNBC.
