CNBC hires Bloomberg’s Solomon to run Asia Pacific

CNBC has hired Justin Solomon as head of TV news for Asia Pacific.

He will start in early 2025 and be based in Singapore and report to Roshan Vaswani, vice president of news and partnerships.

Solomon has been at Bloomberg as the managing editor of TV for Asia in Hong Kong. Solomon has also held roles at CNN, NBC News and CNBC, where he worked as a field producer between 2006 and 2017, based in New Jersey.

“I’m delighted to have Justin join the team in Singapore, bringing with him extensive experience and a sharp instinct for identifying essential news,” said Vaswani in a statement “Justin’s forward-thinking leadership will enhance our team’s capabilities, and he will be instrumental in driving collaboration and synergy within our teams across the region and globally.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
