CNBC President KC Sullivan sent out the following on Thursday:
I want to take a moment to thank the entire organization for your incredible work on the banking crisis. We have owned this story from last Thursday’s Silicon Valley Bank selloff to David Faber’s breaking news on its failed bid to raise capital to our Sunday night special on the government’s rescue package. As the story has shifted, our ongoing reporting from both TV and Digital as well as our presence across the NBCU News Group portfolio are prime examples of the strength of the CNBC brand, the power of collaboration and the vital role we play in the lives of our audience.
As I laid out in last month’s Town Hall, our key priorities for the year are centered around 1) focusing on our core content, 2) growing our audience and 3) developing new partnerships and enhancing collaborations.
To maximize the impact of these efforts going forward, I’d like to announce Osman Ansari will return to CNBC on March 22 as Senior Vice President of Business Transformation & Corporate Affairs, reporting to me.
In this newly created position, Osman will help drive top CNBC-wide initiatives, priorities, and collaboration efforts. He will support CNBC’s plans for multi-functional growth as well as identify opportunities to increase our brand’s influence and efficiency by championing collaboration within CNBC and across the NBCU/Comcast portfolio.
Osman will also be responsible for supporting existing strategic external partnerships by building upon our relationships such as the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
Most recently, Osman served as Senior Vice President of Agency Strategy for NBCUniversal, responsible for accelerating the company’s revenue through strategic partnerships with the largest agencies. He first joined NBCUniversal in 2008, spending more than three years as Director of Programming Finance for CNBC before taking a job in investment banking with Teneo Capital.
Osman rejoined NBCU in 2012 as Vice President of Strategic Client Development for CNBC under its Ad Sales division. After that, he continued to work in NBCU’s Ad Sales department, holding a variety of strategy roles and overseeing multiple transformation projects across the portfolio. He began his career at General Electric as a member of the Corporate Audit staff and received his bachelor’s degree from St. Stephen’s College in India and master’s degree from Monash University in Australia.
Osman is joining our team at a pivotal time, and I know he will be an incredible asset in strengthening our brand and driving our business toward even more impactful offerings.
Please join me in welcoming Osman back to CNBC.
