I want to let everyone know about a few recent additions to the CNBC.com newsroom.
First, Ashley Capoot has been hired as an associate reporter covering technology and general news. She served as part of our digital rotation program this summer before being hired to a full-time reporter role.
Ashley is a Denver native and graduated from Northwestern University in June with a degree in journalism and international studies. She previously interned for the Chicago Tribune, NBC News and the TODAY Show. She also participated in the Medill Investigative Lab at The Washington Post.
When not writing about developments like Twitter’s latest changes or big share movements at Meta, Ashley enjoys skiing, hiking, reading and all things music related.
Second, Gabrielle Fonrouge has joined as a reporter covering retail with a focus on the direct-to-consumer brands. She also expects to delve into the issue of theft, which plagues many big retailers. She comes to CNBC.com from the New York Post where she covered criminal justice and police misconduct, breaking news from every pocket of the country.
Gabrielle grew up in South Florida and graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University. She got her degree in mass communications and a minor in social justice.
Gabrielle loves to read, exercise, travel, cook and go to concerts when the weather is warm. She lives in Brooklyn with her wife and three rescue cats. (Yes, three!)
Lastly, Alex Harring has been brought on to serve as an associate reporter on the markets team covering general news and trends in investing. He first worked at CNBC in 2020 as an intern with the consumer and health teams.
Alex previously interned for CNN, NBC News, The Detroit News and The Wall Street Journal. The Detroit native attended the University of Michigan, where he worked as a news editor and led diversity initiatives at The Michigan Daily.
In his free time, he likes to binge limited series and see the latest movies at the Kips Bay AMC. He is also looking for recommendations on good square pizza in New York City. So far, he’s unimpressed with the city’s pizza options.
Please welcome them all to the CNBC.com newsroom.
