
Austen Hufford has joined City Journal as a senior investigative reporter.
He will be part of the publication’s new California initiative, led by Christopher F. Rufo, which will focus on waste, fraud and abuse across the state.
Hufford previously worked at The Wall Street Journal, where he served as a national economics reporter in Washington, D.C., a U.S. manufacturing reporter in Chicago and a breaking news reporter in New York.
He recently completed a two-year program in advanced Talmudic studies and Jewish ethics at Machon Yaakov Yeshiva during a professional sabbatical.
Hufford will be based in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he worked for The Michigan Daily.
