Crain Communications Inc. has hired veteran journalist Mickey Ciokajlo as executive editor of Crain’s Detroit Business and the Grand Rapids Business Journal.
Ciokajlo will begin in January.
Ciokajlo is with MLive Media Group, currently as director of local news overseeing its local news operations in the eight Michigan markets where it publishes daily newspapers.
Duuring his 12 years at MLive, he held various roles, including lead editor for local news, regional news manager for West Michigan and local news editor/online content chief.
“I am incredibly excited to join the talented team at Crain as we expand our reach to serve readers across Michigan,” Ciokajlo said. “Crain is a highly regarded brand, and my goal is to build on that trusted foundation to deliver even more in-depth, quality journalism that resonates with our growing audience of readers.”
Ciokajlo has a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a master’s from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
