Business journalist Mary Childs is departing NPR show “Planet Money” for a new opportunity.
“It feels crazy to leave the best job in journalism, but I’m really excited about my next new adventure,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
She joined NPR in 2019 as a reporter and host. Before that, she was a senior reporter at Barron’s.
Childs is an award-winning financial journalist who wrote a book about the bond market. Previously she was the U.S. financial correspondent for the Financial Times in New York, covering hedge funds, private equity, and art, and before that she was a reporter at Bloomberg.
At Bloomberg, she covered the corporate bond market.
Childs is a Washington and Lee University graduate who has been a Gerald Loeb Award finalist and won two SABEW Best in Business Awards.
