Michelle Chan is a New York-based reporter covering ESG and sustainable financing for The International Financing Review (IFR) at Refinitiv.
She previously worked for The Wall Street Journal, where she wrote about the decoupling of the U.S.-China financial markets.
Prior to that, she was a Hong Kong correspondent for Nikkei Asia and covered the intersection of business and politics in the Asian financial hub. Her stories on the Hong Kong protests and China’s chipmaking ambitions won awards from the Society of Publishers in Asia in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Chan holds a master’s degree from Columbia University.
