Joseph Bernstein, a senior technology reporter at BuzzFeed News, is taking a buyout and leaving the news organization.
Bernstein is based in New York and has been with BuzzFeed since February 2013.
“I’m supremely grateful to have been part of such a unique and talented newsroom, one which always supported my work,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’ll have more about what’s next for me soon.”
Bernstein was a Nieman fellow for the 2020-21 academic year, studying the ways recent technological change has contributed to alienation in 21st century American life.
He previously was editor of Kill Screen Media and a reporter for two years for Popular Science magazine.
