Business in Vancouver has named Tyler Orton as editor-in-chief, effective immediately.
A story on its website states, “Orton first joined BIV in 2014 as a reporter and has since built a reputation as one of British Columbia’s most trusted business journalists. He is a regular contributor to Global News Morning and, since 2022, has served as business editor for BIV and Lodestar Media, where he launched a chain-wide business news service and helped expand BIV’s digital offerings.
“In March 2025, he was promoted to BIV’s managing editor, further solidifying his leadership role within the organization.
“In his new role, Orton will assume an elevated leadership position at BIV and within Lodestar Media as editor-in-chief of both BIV and Western Investor. His responsibilities will include guiding editorial strategy, overseeing newsroom operations across print, digital and events, and ensuring the highest standards of fairness, accuracy and integrity in journalism.”
