Burton departs MarketWatch.com after 24 years

Commentary editor Jonathan Burton has left MarketWatch.com after 24 years.

He has been in that role for 14 years and previously was money and investing editor. He also was assistant personal finance editor at the publication. Burton also spent time as its mutual funds editor.

“I am now focusing on editorial leadership, content strategy and specialized writing projects — helping writers and publishers navigate strategic directions and editorial decisions,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

Burton previously worked at Bloomberg Personal Finance (Contributing Editor); Business Week; The Christian Science Monitor; The Economist; The Far Eastern Economic Review (New York correspondent, 1988-1992); Forbes; Individual Investor (Contributing Editor); Institutional Investor; and Mutual Funds Magazine (Contributing Editor).

He is a graduate of Lewis & Clark College.
