Bud named co-managing editor of Debtwire

Madalina Iacob Bud

Madalina Iacob Bud has been named co-managing editor at Debtwire.

She will oversee coverage of North America credit across high yield, private credit, distressed, asset-backed securities and municipals.

Bud has more than 12 years of experience covering distressed debt and complex restructurings as well as high-yield bonds and leveraged loans with a focus on the energy and telecommunications sectors at Debtwire.

She received an M.A. in business and economic reporting from New York University and an M.A. in European politics and policy from Manchester University, where she was an Open Society Foundation scholarship recipient.

Before moving to the U.S., she was a TV journalist covering international politics and policy and reported live from Afghanistan, Belgium, Cuba, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
