The following excerpt was sent out:

Breaking Defense is pleased to announce another key development, bringing on board Tim Martin as European Bureau Chief. Martin will start in this new role on October 31. The move establishing a full-fledged editorial bureau dedicated to coverage of European defense issues continues Breaking Defense’s rapid global expansion and reinforces its commitment to the European defense market.

Martin will helm Breaking Defense’s European coverage, working with our existing group of highly capable European correspondents, who will continue in their areas of particular coverage. In addition, he will also provide his own expert coverage of broad-based European defense matters, from policy, force development and NATO alliance issues to coverage regarding the European defense industrial base.

Martin has spent the last three years as Air Editor at Shephard Media. After joining the company as a rotary reporter in 2017, he received promotion to the role of senior reporter. He won the Best Rotorcraft Submission at the 2022 Aerospace Media Awards and holds two Defence Media Awards to his name. Prior to Shepard Media, Martin spent 12 years as a journalist writing and editing for a variety of B2B publications. He holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Swansea, Wales.
