Bode named publisher of Baltimore Biz Journal

Courtney Bode, the director of advertising at the Triangle Business Journal for the past four years, has been named publisher and market president of the Baltimore Business Journal.

Baltimore Business Journal editor in chief Joanna Sullivan writes, “The Baltimore and Raleigh markets are part of the American City Business Journals’ chain of 45 city business publications.

“‘Courtney’s passion for our business is infectious and I have no doubt she will quickly contribute to the leadership of the business community in Baltimore and lead an already talented team to success and growth in the months and years ahead,’ said Mike Olivieri, executive vice president and president, local markets for ACBJ.

Bode is a Virginia Beach, Virginia, native. ‘I’m extremely excited to be here in Baltimore,’ Bode said. ‘This region is rich in history and pride, and I’m looking forward to getting embedded in the business community and leading the BBJ to new heights in supporting the growth of this great market.'”

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
