BNN Bloomberg’s Bonnell departs

Greg Bonnell

Greg Bonnell, a reporter and anchor at BNN Bloomberg in Canada, has left the news organization after nine years.

He focused on Canada’s booming real estate market, how it drives the economy and the risks that come with it. A former business editor and Queen’s Park bureau chief of Canadian Press, he also interviewed many of Canada’s top economic policy makers. He spent 12 years at Canadian Press.

Starting his journalism career in radio broadcasting before focusing on print, Bonnell has covered beats as diverse as politics, law, crime and entertainment.

Bonnell holds a bachelor’s degree from York University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
