Bloomberg News reporter Molly Smith has won the Excellence in Statistical Reporting Award from the American Statistical Association.
The organization noted, “By making federal statistics her ‘beat,’ she stands out among current journalists for her sustained focus on the importance of federal statistics and the need to maintain their value.”
Smith was recently named team leader for U.S. legal coverage at Bloomberg News.
Smith has been editing and writing stories about the U.S. economy for Bloomberg since 2021. She previously was a corporate finance reporter and editor. She has also worked as a rotational reporter.
She was a political correspondent at Citrus TV and has interned at Bloomberg. She was also a local politics reporter at TheNewsHouse.com in Syracuse, New York. She has also interned at Thomson Reuters.
