Bloomberg’s Dwyer announces retirement after 50 years

Paula Dwyer, a senior editor at Bloomberg, has announced her retirement. Her last day is July 5.

Over the course of her career, Dwyer has written and edited news stories, columns and editorials on the personalities, politics and policies driving decision makers in America and abroad. She has also covered finance, economics, markets, regulation and corporate governance.

Before Bloomberg, she was at The New York Times, where she has worked as a deputy business editor based in New York and as an economics editor in the Times’ Washington bureau. There, she also oversaw coverage of various topics, including the financial crisis.

During her more than 20 years at BusinessWeek, she held the posts of chief congressional correspondent, London bureau chief, Washington investigative correspondent and deputy Washington bureau chief.

She co-authored “Take on the Street,” a New York Times bestseller in 2002 and on Warren Buffett’s list of the best business books. She was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist for editorial writing in 2012 and received an Overseas Press Club award in 1995 for coverage of globalization.
