Bloomberg is launching a weekend show

Gura, Mateo and Ruffini

Bloomberg announced Thursday the launch of “Bloomberg This Weekend,” expanding the network’s live business and global news coverage to seven days a week.

The three-hour program will be hosted by David Gura, Christina Ruffini and Lisa Mateo and will simulcast on Bloomberg’s audio, video and digital platforms. It will debut on Feb. 28 and air on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

“Bloomberg This Weekend” debuts February 28 at 7:00 a.m. ET and airs on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Gura and Ruffini will lead the show from New York. Mateo will be news anchor will keep audiences up-to-date on the latest headlines.

Gura is co-host of Bloomberg’s “Big Take” podcast and has spent his career covering the intersection of Wall Street and Washington. Ruffini is an Emmy-award winning foreign affairs journalist and anchor. She joins Bloomberg after serving as a contributing host for NBC, MSNBC/MS Now, and The Atlantic Live.

Mateo joins the team from Bloomberg Surveillance Radio.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
