Crystal Tse

Aaron Kirchfeld, executive editor for deals at Bloomberg News, sent out the following announcement on Friday”

Hi all,

We’re pleased to announce that Crystal Tse will be relocating to London in the coming months after six exciting years in New York. She’ll be covering EMEA FIG M&A for the Deals Team, as well as helping out on broader investment banking coverage.

Crystal has been an integral part of the US Deals Team, most recently helping to break Anglo American’s takeover of Teck Resources and Mondelez’s failed pursuit of Hershey. She’s had a string of scoops on activist investors including Elliott’s campaigns at industry giants like Honeywell and Johnson Controls. She worked closely with Finance reporters to deliver major exclusives on Credit Suisse’s restructuring and downfall, and produced comprehensive coverage of the 2021 SPAC craze. And she’s covered everything from LVMH’s sale of Marc Jacobs to the Koch family’s investment in the Brooklyn Nets.

Crystal started with Bloomberg as an intern in Hong Kong, where she broke news on IPOs for three years before coming to New York. Her move to London means she’ll be one of the few who can boast of covering all three regions, and we look forward to using that global perspective in her new role. When she’s not out there chasing scoops, Crystal enjoys workout classes, cooking, trying new restaurants and live music.

It’s a great time to move to Europe, where the financial industry is being reshaped by a wave of dealmaking across banking, asset management and insurance. Crystal will work closely with the European Finance Team to break deals as well as chronicle the broader trends affecting the investment banking world, including all the latest hirings, firings and restructurings at the biggest lenders we care about.

We’re currently looking for a replacement on the activist beat in the US, and we’ll arrange farewell drinks for Crystal in New York some time soon.

Please join us in congratulating Crystal on her move!
