Bloomberg taps Scigliuzzo as chief correspondent for private capital

Davide Scigliuzzo

Bloomberg News journalist Davide Scigliuzzo has been named chief correspondent for private capital.

Here’s the announcement Thursday from Sree Vidya Bhaktavatsalam, Shannon Harrington and Michael Moore:

We’re thrilled to announce that, after spearheading the buildout of our private credit coverage for the last three years, Davide Scigliuzzo will take on the expanded role of Chief Correspondent for Private Capital. In this new position, Davide will work with the stellar team of journalists across Credit, Finance and Investing to help bridge our coverage of the rapidly evolving world of private assets. That means helping us stay ahead on the most important themes in the space — such as the convergence of public and private markets — as well as identifying the people and firms we should be paying more attention to and explaining the ways in which finance is being reshaped.

The role builds on the work that Davide started as Private Credit Czar, where he helped Bloomberg bring more transparency to a $1.7 trillion market that had barely existed a decade ago. During that time, Davide has been instrumental, whether as a reporter or as an editor behind the scenes, in much of our best coverage. That included exposing questionable valuations in private credit portfolios as well as the lending excesses that have started to worry regulators and the billionaires that were minted along the way.

Davide will continue to play a crucial part in Bloomberg’s expansion of private credit coverage while collaborating with reporters, editors and managers in each group to help us report and frame the next big stories across private capital. He’ll have a dual reporting line to Shannon Harrington and Michael Moore and continue to be based in Los Angeles.

Please join us in congratulating Davide on his new position.
