Margaret Collins, Washington bureau chief at Bloomberg News, sent out the following on Friday:

Hi all,

We are delighted to announce that Sarah Halzack will become Team Leader of a newly formed team covering domestic policy from Washington.

Sarah has served as a senior editor on the Americas Hub since 2021, steering complex newsroom projects and ambitious enterprise stories — including many Big Takes on the historic 2024 election last year.

Before that, she was a columnist with Bloomberg Opinion, writing about the consumer and retail sectors. Sarah came to Bloomberg in 2017 from the Washington Post, where she worked on the Business Desk as a reporter and web producer.

In her role, Sarah will build our Domestic Policy Team, which will include our new hires to cover education and housing. Her team will work closely with the National team and US bureaus to chronicle the unprecedented changes reshaping the federal government and their impact across the economy, businesses and households.

We are looking forward to many good stories to come,

Peggy
