Bloomberg senior editor Canivete moving to Dubai

Bloomberg News senior editor Carla Canivete is leaving London to become Middle East economics and politics editor in Dubai.

She has been at Bloomberg for more than seven years and most recently was overseeing economics and government coverage with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa.

Canivete previously spent 13 years at Dow Jones Newswires covering Portuguese companies and the economy. She was also bureau chief for a Portuguese-language news service.

She holds a degree from Escola Superior de Comunicação Social.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
