Bloomberg reporter Thanthong-Knight moving to Thailand

Randy Thanthong-Knight

Bloomberg News reporter Randy Thanthong-Knight is moving to Thailand for the news organization.

He has been covering the Canadian economy, labor market, immigration and government regulations for Bloomberg since February 2022.

Thanthong-Knight joined Bloomberg in 2018 as a reporter in Bangkok covering the economy, politics, agriculture, energy and trade.

He previously was a reporter for NHK World Japan and an intern for Reuters. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Sciences Po and a master’s degree from Columbia University.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
