Bloomberg News reporter Nadia Lopez has been hired by Axios to write a San Francisco newsletter.
She has been covering California policy stories about the environment, politics, energy, health and other topics since joining Bloomberg in May 2023.
Before that, she was a reporter at CalMatters covering environment and climate policy, focusing on the state’s major goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Lopez previously was a reporter covering the central San Joaquin Valley’s Latino community at The Fresno Bee.
She was also a corps member at Report for America and has covered politics, the housing crisis, the homelessness epidemic and top policy issues for the San Jose Spotlight. There, she also covered elections, climate change and immigration.
Lopez graduated from San Francisco State University.
