Bloomberg names Gopinath a private equity deals reporter

Swetha Gopinath

Bloomberg has appointed Swetha Gopinath to private equity deals reporter to cover transactions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with a focus on broader trends shaping the industry.

She joined Bloomberg in August 2019 as an equity capital markets reporter and then served as a deals reporter.

Previously, Gopinath was an M&A reporter and then served as a senior reporter for ECM at Mergermarket. Previously, she worked at Thomson Reuters for more than six years. There, she held the posts of company news reporter and editor in charge, resources and Canada.

She also led coverage of U.S.-listed energy companies including shale oil companies, large oilfield service providers and solar panel makers.

Gopinath has an M.A. from Bournemouth University in Poole, England.
