Merryn Somerset Webb has been hired as a senior columnist at Bloomberg Opinion.
She will start in November. The new weekly podcast on personal finance that she will host will debut at a later date.
In her role, she will write a weekly column on investment and personal finance and host a podcast as part of an expansion of Bloomberg’s Wealth content for UK audiences later this year.
Webb has been editor-in-chief of financial magazine MoneyWeek, where she was also the launch editor. She was also a Contributing Editor at the Financial Times, where she wrote a weekly column on personal finance and investment.
She joins her former MoneyWeek colleague John Stepek, who became a senior reporter on Bloomberg’s Wealth team in September. They will contribute to additional digital and video content, highlighting their personal finance expertise.
Adding to Bloomberg’s Wealth offering in the UK, Stepek will also lead a daily newsletter that will explain what the top financial stories of the day mean for personal investment portfolios. He spent 17 years at MoneyWeek, most recently in the role of Executive Editor and as the main writer of the popular Money Morning newsletter. He is also the author of “The Sceptical Investor,” a book on contrarian investing techniques.
