Bloomberg News has named Mike Shepard a senior editor for technology and strategic industries.
He previously was executive editor for U.S. government news in Washington.
Shepard has been with Bloomberg for 13 years, previously serving as senior editor, Washington, and as editor at the technology regulation team, editing breaking and enterprise stories.
Prior to Bloomberg, he was with The Washington Post for 22 years, where he held various editing roles. He served as night editor on the financial desk, handling breaking and enterprise stories on companies, the economy, financial markets, and regulatory policy for the newspaper and its website.
He also edited several blogs on subjects that include the economy, technology and government policy. He has also served as a news editor, designing pages and overseeing production of the A and Metro sections at the Post.
