Silvia Killingsworth, who leads the Americas editing hub at Bloomberg News, sent out the following on Wednesday:

The Americas editing hub underwent quite a bit of staffing turnover at the end of last year, with Millie Munshi returning to Energy & Commodities, Ethan Bronner moving to Tel Aviv to head up our Israel coverage, Danielle Balbi stepping in to cover for Beth Ponsot on The Big Take, and Sarah Halzack on parental leave. This year, we are slowly building back up our stable of top-flight editors who work across the newsroom to improve and elevate our news and enterprise coverage.

I am pleased to announce that Siddhartha Mahanta will join the Americas editing hub next month as a Senior Editor. Sid comes to us most recently from Project Brazen, a studio run by ex-WSJ reporters Bradley Hope and Tom Wright. Before that, he was at the New York Times, commissioning essays for their opinion section on business, economics and technology. He has also worked for The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and Business Insider, where he edited several award-winning stories. He is looking forward to collaborating with journalists across beats and time zones, particularly with our friends in Global Biz, Technology, Eco/Gov as well as Investigations, Big Takes and beyond. Sid hails from Texas, loves biking, his cats, and used to do Shakespeare. Don’t hold any of it against him!

Sid’s first day at Bloomberg will be March 20. I hope to be able to post for an additional Senior Editor role on the hub in the coming weeks.
