Liana Baker, U.S. deals managing editor at Bloomberg News, sent out the following in Wednesday:
I want to welcome Tim LeeMaster as an editor on the Deals team in New York. He starts this week and joins from FT Specialist, where he developed and led Health Payer Specialist, a news product focused on health insurers.
Over the past 15 years, Tim has worked on a range of media startup products spanning finance, equity capital markets and artificial intelligence in both Asia and the US. While based in Asia for roughly two decades, he covered Wall Street’s efforts to expand into China and the mainland’s overseas push. His reporting included the initial public offerings of ICBC and AIA, which remain among the largest IPOs globally.
Tim, a California native, holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from UCLA and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Hong Kong. He lives in Forest Hills with his wife and their cat, Nana.
Tim replaces Fareed Sahloul, who moved to London in January to become a senior editor on the Deals Team. This follows a similar move across the Atlantic from Crystal Tse, who is covering FIG M&A and investment banking, as previously announced.
In addition, senior reporter Michelle F. Davis is expanding her coverage and adding consumer/retail M&A to her beat. She’ll continue helping us break the biggest deals across sectors alongside her existing specialties covering health-care, media and telecom deals.<
Michelle, along with team members Ryan Gould, David Carnevali, Matthew Monks and our fearless leader Aaron Kirchfeld, have all been familiar faces on the Deals Show, which is now in its second month and expertly hosted by Dani Burger.
Congrats to everyone on the new roles—now let’s go break some news of course.
