Bloomberg hires Kerr as a markets editor

Jaren Kerr

Bloomberg News has hired Jaren Kerr as a markets editor.

Kerr joined the Financial Times’ New York bureau in 2022, where he contributed to markets coverage, the breaking news desk, and occasionally wrote about Canadian affairs.

He was a reporter at The Globe and Mail in Toronto, where he won a National Newspaper Award in 2020, and was a finalist in 2021.

Kerr has a B.A. from the University of Toronto.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
