Bloomberg hires Johnson to cover DC bank regulation

Bloomberg News has hired Katanga Johnson to cover bank regulation in its Washington bureau.

Johnson had been at Reuters.

He had been covering U.S. regulation at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Johnson interned at WAMU and Congressional Quarterly in addition to Reuters. He is an alumnus of Morehouse College and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
