Bloomberg News has hired Mishal Husain as editor-at-large for Bloomberg Weekend Edition.
She will start in early 2025.
Husain will host a new flagship multi-platform global interview series as a central feature of Bloomberg’s recently launched weekend offering. She will also work on other editorial projects for the global news brand.
She joins Bloomberg from the BBC, where she presented its leading news program “Today on BBC Radio 4” for over a decade. Before joining Today in 2013, she was an anchor on BBC World News and has also been a familiar face to UK audiences on the main national news programs. She was previously based in Washington and Singapore as an anchor for the BBC.
Husain has written two books, most recently a family memoir “Broken Threads: My Family From Empire to Independence,” which became a Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller in hardback.
“I am delighted to be fronting a new interview show that will reach audiences in different formats as part of the exciting plans for Bloomberg Weekend Edition,” said Husain in a statement. “Ours is an ever more complex world but the desire for thoughtful conversations crosses all borders. I look forward to working with a new team at Bloomberg – the place which gave me my first job in journalism.”
