Bloomberg hires Daga as Asia finance and investing editor

Anshuman Daga

Bloomberg News has hired Anshuman Daga as its Asia finance and investing editor.

He previously was Asia columnist for Reuters Breakingviews.

Daga spent more than 26 years at Reuters, including time as senior financial correspondent on Reuters Asia finance team, where he has covered Ping An’s call for HSBC to carve out its Asian operations and takeover interest in Standard Chartered.

Prior to that, he tracked European stocks in London, where he broke the news of Mittal Steel’s $32 billion bid for Arcelor. His career with Reuters began in Mumbai.

Daga is a graduate of Osmania University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
