Bloomberg hires Chakravorty as senior editor for Asia enterprise

Jui Chakravorty

Bloomberg News has hired Jui Chakravorty as senior editor for Asia enterprise. Based in Tokyo, Chakravorty will work closely with reporters and editors across Asia to develop features and other editorial projects.

She was most recently special projects editor at Nikkei Asia, where the projects she led garnered several accolades including Nikkei’s first (and second) Awards of Excellence in the Global category at the SOPAs, as well as multiple SABEW awards.

Chakravorty previously spent a decade at Reuters, where her reporting assignments included the auto industry out of Detroit, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict out of Jerusalem and Gaza, and mergers and acquisitions out of New York. She co-created and anchored a weekly video show on M&A news for Reuters terminals.

She also served as deputy bureau chief for the 30-person Reuters bureau in Mumbai, while simultaneously heading India’s corporate coverage for the international arm of Reuters, which catered to a global audience.

In her time between Reuters and Nikkei Asia, Chakravorty founded a digital journalism startup that trained and employed 51 journalists in 34 under-resourced communities around the world. Publishing partners included the BBC and the United Nations.
