Bloomberg Government’s Rothman moves to Bloomberg Tax

Heather Rothman

Bloomberg Government news director Heather Rothman is now overseeing all non-news analysis and content for Bloomberg Tax.

She had been news director for the past five years, managing Bloomberg Government’s reporters, editors and analysts. She also directed political and election-related news coverage, oversaw a team of state correspondents with a focus on trend stories, and managed a team of government contracting reporters and analysts.

Rothman also coordinated cross-platform special projects and collaborated with colleagues at other Bloomberg divisions including Bloomberg News, Bloomberg Law and Bloomberg Tax.

She has been with the company since June 2001, starting off covering Congress.

Rothman previously worked for Congressional Quarterly. She holds as bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from George Washington University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
