Bloomberg Government has hired Ken Tran to cover appropriations.

He will start in September.

Tran is a reporter on USA Today’s Congress and campaigns team. Since joining USA Today in 2022, Tran has reported on some of the biggest political stories in the country, from the 2022 midterms to leadership fights in Congress to the presidential primaries, asking tough questions of lawmakers and candidates alike.

Tran’s work has also been published in Seacoast Online, the Granite State News Collaborative and Salon. He has also done production work at MSNBC’s “All in with Chris Hayes.”

Ken holds a BA in politics and communication from Saint Anselm College..

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
