Blockworks editor in chief Rice departs

Jon Rice, the editor in chief of crypto news site Blockworks, left earlier this week.

“It has been my privilege and honor to have built an exceptional team of talented, ethical, and hard-working journalists and editors,” he wrote on Twitter.

Previously, he served as editor-in-chief at Cointelegraph, where he also created and edited the long-format magazine publication. He is the co-founder of Crypto Briefing, which launched in 2017.

Rice is a staunch advocate for diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity in the blockchain industry.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
