
Business journalist Russell Gold, a Loeb Award winner in 2020, is leaving Texas Monthly to join T1 Energy as senior vice president of communications.
He has been a senior editor at the publication for four years.
Gold had previously been covering climate and business as the Journal’s senior energy reporter.
Gold has covered fracking, oil, renewables, electricity, batteries, natural gas and much more. He is also the author of the award-winning, “The Boom,” which was about the rise of fracking. The book was a longlisted finalist for FT and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.
He is also the author of “Superpower,” a book about a renewable energy entrepreneur and his bold idea to unleash the wind-power potential of the Great Plains.
Gold has also served as an energy journalist fellow and staff reporter for The University of Texas at Austin and San Antonio Express-News, respectively.
He also held the post of correspondent at the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Gold is a B.A. in history from Columbia University.
