Politico reporter James Bikales is now covering oil and gas policy for the news organization.
He has been is an energy reporter covering federal policy around electric vehicles, batteries and critical minerals, with a particular focus on Congress. He previously authored the Pro Energy team’s flagship daily newsletter, Morning Energy, for two years.
Prior to joining Politico, Bikales wrote for The Washington Post’s general assignment desk.
He grew up in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Harvard University with a degree in government.
