
Financial news site Benzinga has hired Jody Rones as its chief revenue officer.
Rones will be focusing on brand partnerships, new product development, client solutions, go-to-market strategy and overall revenue growth.
He previously held leadership roles at media, information services and technology companies, including serving as a founding member and chief revenue officer at Thrillist and Group Nine Media, as well as executive positions at Leaf Group and Gamurs Group.
“Jody’s strong reputation for building and scaling high-performing revenue organizations, coupled with his trusted relationships with key clients and vast experience across the space, makes him the ideal leader for this role,” said Benzinga’s CEO Jerry Ferrara in a statement.
Benzinga is majority owned by a Canadian private equity firm called Beringer Capital, following a 2021 acquisition that valued the company at approximately $300 million. Founder and CEO Jason Raznick retains a significant ownership stake in the financial media company
