Bloomberg Opinion has named Victoria Benning its managing editor overseeing U.S. political commentary.
She had joined the company last year as a managing editor for the Bloomberg News national team.
She recently was deputy America editor at The Washington Post.
Benning had been with the Post for over 26 years. There, she held various posts, including education reporter, assistant metro editor and editor for transportation and development. She also served as a content editor handling stories from several desks, including Metro, National, Foreign and Financial.
She also launched the Post’s Alexandria Arlington Extra, a 28-page weekly local news section that covered the Northern Virginia suburbs of Alexandria and Arlington.
In addition, she has reported for The Detroit Free Press, The Boston Globe and The Des Moines Register.
