Dharshini David has been appointed as chief economics correspondent at the BBC.
This is a new role created in response to the thematic review of the BBC’s coverage of taxation, public spending, government borrowing and debt.
David has been a senior correspondent for business and economics coverage since October 2019. She previously was the chief business presenter and the global trade senior correspondent.
She previously was an economic consultant at Daiwa Capital Markets in London and a presenter for Sky News.
David holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Cambridge.
